Abstract : Research was conducted on two questions. First examined was whether the theoretical weights applied by Fiedler to the components of situational favorability (i.e., group atmosphere, task structure and position power) were valid. Second investigated was the correspondence between situational favorability and measures of psychological uncertainty. Two studies were run and the results are discussed.
