Abstract : Estimated axial and radial variations of electron density in the wake of a blunted 8 degrees semi-vertex angle cone are presented. The underdense contribution to the radar cross section (both differential and total) at VHF is also given. Flight conditions were: 17,549 feet per second at an altitude of 150,000 feet; 17,459 feet per second at an altitude of 100,000 feet; and 16,950 feet per second at an altitude of 70,000 feet.
